Donna Duffy and Pat Howes are co-owners of Academic Connections
Tutoring Service, LLC.
They met 5 years ago when Donna and her family returned from living abroad in Nazareth, Israel.
They soon became great friends as they shared common interests and experiences.

Donna has worked in the field of education for the past 20 years and has a BS in business administration.
She homeschooled her own children while living in Nazareth; and subsequently started and coordinated a school
program there for Arab American children called Bridging the Gap. She continues as a consultant and liaison
for that program, working with the current coordinator. Upon returning to the US, Donna worked for three years
as an education director. She and her husband, Ben, have 3 teenage children and live in New Castle, DE.

Pat has a BS in secondary education and has worked for past ten years as a preschool director. For many years,
Pat facilitated leadership training as well as development of small groups among college students and women.
She and her husband, Bruce, have two adult sons and live in Wilmington, DE.
Since each one was involved in education, they decided to join forces to provide tutoring services for children
who need extra help to succeed in school. They enjoy providing the means to help students reach their potential
and hope to develop thinkers and learners in the process. Academic Connections Tutoring is serving the needs of
students in the state of Delaware, as well as the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Donna and Pat have recently become the Educational and Curriculum Directors for Dream Believe Know It Productions,
an organization that exists to make a positive impact on the future of our children and young adults. They see
this as a natural and perfect fit for them, combining what they love to do and spreading the benefits to the youth

Donna enjoys writing, public speaking, and reading. Travel, nature hikes, and the beach are among her favorite
things. She sees herself as a lifelong learner and wants learn to kayak and speak Italian. Pat loves to cook,
travel, and spend time outdoors skiing, biking, hiking and gardening. Her goals include learning graphic design
and layout. Both have traveled extensively. They enjoy meeting new people, learning about other cultures and
customs, and look forward to traveling much more in the years to come!
